But adwaita still reads some theme files apearantly, it is possible to change background color and some other stuff from that gtk theme config folder, but after that you can't change gtk theme from app(it is manual overwriting on some files or smth), you must rm -rf that directory to properly be able to set gtk theme again
Idk any of this adwaita bullshit, just I wasn't able to change theme, asked around, they do smth in there, had to remove those folders, then theme changing worked fine

basically he logged in through a display/login manager to Hyprland

gdm or Gnome Display Manager can used with every de

so you can log into plasma with gdm

and gdm is default on gnome

but you can use sddm or lightdm or whatever you want

most will work with hyprland

as for dotfiles they are basically configuration files

in your home directory

there is are folders and files that start with .

these are hidden because of that and can be seen by enabling show hidden folders

~/.config/ is the directory where most of your local user configurations are located

~/ is an alias to /home/username/

by copying ./config/ folder you can pretty copy most of the configurations from one system to another

they are referred to as dotfiles because .config/ .zshrc .bashrc etc start with a dot

and files that start dot is hidden

btw on xorg/x11 you can mix dofferent xorg window managers and xorg compositors

on wayland that is not possible

as they are the same thing
