Clowns shouldn’t be able to communicate to survivors via proximity chat they don’t talk in the movie and I think that would ruin it but I do think they should be able to hear survivors.

I think klowns can speak their own language via filter in case humans are listening to their plan, but can switch to the unfiltered mic to speak to humans or trick them into coming near them
