Some or most mp3 files can fail to load and cause the game not to open. Pls check if any of your replacements are mp3s, and removing them or replacing them by wav or ogg

Basically I tried separating exceptions a patch might throw (due to changes to the original code for example) from the game using the so called Finalizers. Previously, a malfunctioning patch would affect the game bc of the whole "function returns if exception is thrown"... But now ezmod can catch its own exceptions and leave the game alone. It's straightforward really, but it has to be declared explicitly in each patch, that's why it's only a thing now
Also, I separated the different modules (sprite replacer, audio replacer, etc) from one another so that one can break or be emergency disabled without the rest being bothered
The first thing is kinda like a try-catch in nature, but a tad more elegant and bespoke for this specific case :]

I'm currently making a lot of changes to the sound effects. As for the music, it's tough because it has to fit the map's theme, for example, there's no “lava world” style music in Deltarune, so I don't know what to use.
Otherwise, I should probably use music from Undertale.

pls try this hotfix. find the "BepInEx/plugins" folder in your ezmod gui folder (not the game folder) and paste it in there, while overwriting
it should fix it all up (and restore features that relied on the keyboard like hot reload and emotes)

a new "semi-update" is now OUT.
it fixes several issues that started appearing with 2.1+ pls consider upgrading to keep enjoying your packs
the configs are completely unchanged/backwards compatible so no exe update this time, just the plugin
The following features are finally back to working order:
- all SFX replacement
- title logo replacement
- emote sending
- many other intrusive errors are gone
The only thing still pending is tilemap replacing, which might come in the future. but everything else is good to go

I just tested with my pack and what i can note is that my sfx for mario/luigi voicelines and actions don't work, everything else works just fine though
I tried changing some stuff to .mp3/.wav that does work in other sections but it seems that just any of the sfx in those 4 sections won't work
And when I load the game it doesn't give me any error messages about none working sfx
so character-specific sounds. hm. i specifically tried those and they did work for me

the bad news is that with every mvlo update, there is a small chance tileset replacements in old packs become outdated, requiring the author of the pack to re-build it
ezmod will autogenerate it based on the mvlo version, but it needs to be done by the pack creator since the tileset specifically isn't backwards compatible
this should only be an issue if the unity version mvlo uses is updated, which is when the atlas layout changes around
of course this is still better than what we have now (i won't have to update ezmod every time). this will be possible immediately after mvlo updates with just a couple of clicks if the pack creator has the original tileset replacement images
or.. i could add a way to convert old tile replacements to new ones. it should just take me a couple short days more

ok, i found out why. uibackground.png had compression enabled in the game, at which point the texture becomes locked and ezmod can't replace it correctly
i love compression when used responsibly!!
anyway i fixed it uhh now uibackground can be replaced (and that's it, it is the only compressed texture in the game)
it was just an extra step for compressed textures before the graphics copy

the smaller the textures, the less impactful compression is (and the worse the compression artifacts)
for example, enabling compression on any of those sprites would make them all discolored and blurry
of course, compression on such small images is going to be bad. it's more meant for large, detailed ones like the bakgrounds or the title logo
i assume uibackground.png being left compressed was an accident
when I import MiiBumm´s Mega Ezmod Pack the game straight up doesnt launch.

There's one specific SFX that is corrupt that stops it from loading. Try to find it by listening to all of them and removing it
OK!! i can say with high certaintly that the next version of ezmod is finally READY. and after so much waiting it's fully compatible with 2.1 AND backwards compatible with old packs. we can go back to enjoying custom sounds and tilemaps, all automatically figured out based on the version of the game. so i'd like to believe the system is more robust now
i'll give it a few playtesting sessions in case there's something fatal and then get the uploads going
the "atlas integrator" is now gone because again, it figures it all out in the background for you. for old packs, you'll just have to press this button once so it converts to the new tilemap format
which is just this. still the same tiles all tidied up, but in one image instead of multiple parts so it's more portable
that's a bit ridiculous

- ⛰️ Tilemap replacement is back for 2.1! Also, the plugin figures out tile placing dynamically based on the game version so it'll work for other mods too without you having to change anything! If you load an older pack, please perform the one-time automatic update in the Sprites tab, and you'll be good to go!
- 🗣️ SFX and voicelines are also back just the way they worked before, for real this time.
- Added a tweak to change how many replays you see per page.
- Added a way to replace the sprites for the fade silhouettes.
- Made bootup times even shorter, and the game no longer hangs at boot if trying to load corrupted files.
- Fixed erratic colours in chat if a font was replaced.
so please feel free to load up your packs, new and old; they should work better than ever!

the light in environments is if you want to change the main lighting in the entire map. for example, to make bricks darker, or volcano more warm
the light in objects is if you want to add a small, area light in one spot of the map. for example, to make the poison in jungle glow purple as you get to it or to have brighter and darker spots throughout a map
i personally added a yellow light to stars so they glow
and sounds to levels to have ambiance like waves in beach
press the "Edit" button and you can drag a point near the poison so you don't have to figure out and type the numbers

Yes, I'd like to think so! There was a material reassignment problem with the outlines on some text... I tested on several bigger rooms and the memory no longer creeps up
preview of volcano tileset, bit of a wip but i kinda like using the cave tiles n recoloring them to be a bright orange ish color

also while i was checking this, i noticed two very unfortunate flaws in the new update:
- the ice tiles cannot be replaced. again. (what is it with me and ice tiles)
- none the fade silhouettes except from the pipes one cannot be replaced. (they're in an unsupported format, so so much for that)
