i only ever noticed assets that have new directories never get refreshed with the reload hotkey and 3d assets not being able to reload
The hot reload is only for when you edit an existing replacement, not switch to another file

One thing I do is copy the path of the thing on the address bar of the file chooser that opens so I don't have to navigate thru all the folders

Oh uhhh yeah when the lighting is changed I also change the material of the ground and objects so they get affected by light (in most cases, it looks better than if I wouldn't have done that)

My issue with the lighting is not how the ground changes colors, but how the it also depends on X/Y values
Look at Jungle for example, i set the lighting to 90 degrees at X or Y
When its still light on top of the player the whole ground gets dark
Im probably asking for too much but i think the setting to change grounds colors could be individual toggles for each stage...
Yeah I see... The ground is still 2d after all, so when the light is directly above it, it's not hitting it with enough power. I can add a toggle, it's ok

None of the game files are modified, everything sits on top and is "portable"

had to remove those replacements
i think that’s because some of them were in a different file place so it was a failed replacement

Ezmod can be installed on both vanilla and mods from 2.0 onwards. If a certain mod is "too different" (as in, uses custom decorations or different music), some replacements might not work.

ice tiles are in two places... the "Snow" and the "Underground" tileset. atm i don't remember which one of the two is the actual correct one. you should try one or the other
i replaced the both "snow" and "underground" tileset, yet the ice textures in ice rmains unchanged

Usually that's because it can't find the files for the replacements because they've been moved or deleted

Ya the problem is that the spritesheet for the fireballs and the spritesheet for the fireball particles have the same filename in the game, so there's no way for ezmod to tell which one is which

For sprites and textures, you may simply use the filename without the extension

Hm, it shouldn't reset... Try closing the program, then saving the file in your text editor, and only after that reopening the config app
Closing the app saves automatically, and the file is read only when you open it back up
So if you like save in your text editor while the program is open, and then close the app, your changes will be lost bc the gui is in the outdated state

I copy the replacement texture to the sprite's memory based on the name. That function requires the new texture to be the same size and format, because the sprite isn't reinitialised but just changed in-place. Other methods like having a man in the middle for Resource.load() doesn't work because mvlo does not have its textures in the Resources unity folder

I recommend you upgrade to nitro studio 2 deluxe, it's basically the same but it does have options for exporting sequence archives. And the sequence archives are actually the proper sound effects, with the correct effects applied (the "sounds" from your previous screenshot are just the samples by themselves and might not have everything you're looking for)

you need to extract everything from the mvlo ezmod zip, and not move the exe

Very few mp3s work but the vast majority will stop the game from loading. So I don't recommend using them, no
I'll remove them from the available file formats in the file picker next update

The program comes alongside some other files it needs for installation and they must've gotten misplaced. They go hidden once you extract them because of an oversight on my part. Try extracting everything again to a folder and keeping the executable in there

if you use audacity, you can set up a macro to convert every WAV file in a folder to OGG :3

you can also set up an audacity macro to normalize the audio of every file in a folder before exporting it to ogg, making it so some sounds wont be too loud :3

Yeah you have to make sure all sprite replacements are exactly the same size as the originals, and make sure the tiles line up
Also looks like you have that bug where the atlas gen button doesn't appear, idk what causes it but check this msg out if you've got the time for it

Been coming back to ezmod and I've a few ideas for expansion:
- "tile adder": for any stage, you can add tiles on top of the existing ones. They would have no collision, so they'd be treated as custom decoration
- I keep trying but I'm STILL struggling with implementing model replacing for custom characters. As a sacrifice, I thought of a sprite based custom character module, where you'd input a spritesheet and the mario model would be replaced by your textures. Better than nothing?
- "object adder": for certain items like the player, the stage, the enemies, the star, etc. you can add other objects on top of them like a light, a sound effect, or a custom sprite.
- changing the fonts of the text throughout the menus.
All of these except from the last one (will have to see how permissive arbitrary font loading is) sound very possible. I better get to work then!!
