Yes! git uses terminology that's sooooo weird, but commit and push basically means "ok i'm done for today, upload my changes to [wherever your repo is, in our case, github]"

at the same time, pull would mean to download the stuff in the repo that's different to what you have locally (for example, if another person uploaded their stuff to the repo before you...)
