i was thinking of a water flood one for sewers, but hypercat doesnt have the water code, and im pretty sure that its kinda buggy rn aswell

Basically, you get a level with 2 floors, and there is gravity defying lava that can kill you from above and from below. If there's no lava, the level would play just like volcano with it's shitass double floors thing, but in this level, the way it works is the lava is constantly covering 1 of the 2 floors, and every time the wonder flower is touched, the lava will move up or down to the next floor, forcing everyone to platform their way before dying. This would also probably require wonder flowers to update spawn positions of the stars depending on where the lava currently is, and it would also mean lava destroys stars, not the void. Now, to get to the one gimmick that I've actively hated on before this one specific case...
Vertical scrolling (HEAR ME OUT HERE)
Since you're not able to constantly just run or fall down between the floors, having the lava wrap around just like the players or like the star would make sense. This means that, under perfect rng, lava would constantly keep rising/declining 1 floor every time a wonder flower is picked up, but the map isn't going to end because it wraps both vertically and horizontally
I hope this isn't too confusing but that's the idea βΊοΈ

but, metal's interesting. when the effect runs out you don't die if you're in lava.
also the level works fine without the pipes below the lava
most likely because the lava checks for collision only one time, when the player enters it, not on each frame while they're inside it. so the metal player goes in, the lava checks for collisions and sees nothing, then the metal runs out and nothing else happens
ill see what i can do about it
might need to recheck for collisions right when it runs out. dunno
a funny bug happens in vanilla too where you can stand inside an enemy forever without it hurting you if you overlap with it while you're in i-frames
