Yup, mods add stuff that's not compatible with vanilla or with other mods, so you all have to be running the exact same one to play together. The Badly Translated MvLO and the Wii Remote Controller mods are an exception though, and do allow cross-play

it's just that we can't have a program launch another program because of safety things
it's locked out

With vic's mod loader, what does it do? It doesnt seem to be able to download the individual mods, just show me a list. I get download error 31 when i try. Also, does it boot the vanilla game at all?

It's a mod launcher, you can download and play many versions of the game that are out there, including vanilla.
Are you on Windows? Make sure to have the latest version, which is v3. Try other mods or versions and tell me which one is not working

Yeah, Mac has a couple of issues. Not many mods support it, and due to security issues Apple has put in place, the mod loader can't launch whatever stuff you install with it. Sooo... It's kinda useless on Mac, sorry. You're better off using the official links of each mod

Linux can break just like any other program or OS
If it "breaks" you can just revert the changes you've made or do a factory reset. Many people have reinstalled OSs on their Deck

GitHub is a bit smarter and sorts the uploads by date in descending order instead, so it works out

It's a simple downloader and launcher for the mods in here. They get saved in AppData, although you can change the location in the program's settings. I try to add as many mods as possible, and yeah yours is included too :)
