I was almost done, the issue is that one's player animation didn't play on the other players
Although since stuff like timing, the teleporting and the door animation (it wasn't easy to have it look "correct") are actually working, I invite you to get inspiration from my implementation and maybe attempt to fix what's not working? this is kidna a stupid idea but vic ithink u should make 2 new rules for star/coin collecting
cause like, by got star/coin it means whenever u get one
but by colelcting is when udirectly go for one and collect it
tho it kinda overshadowed by the got star/coin but yea
i believe the game doesn't differentiate between someone collecting a coin and coins given to someone by other means
they use the same code, so it's not trivial to separate the different scenarios in multiple rules
plus imo that much fine control over the rules isn't necessary nor beneficial

if 2 people wanna try this out then this is the ruleset + the conditions for the game (toggling player collisions is ok if a spinner is needed) and it gives more emphasis on duo-coop rulesets
2 players is the recommended amount for this since any more than 2 would probably make things really hard lmao
also i recommend that you play as mario/luigi for accurate hitboxes (idk if all the characters have the same hitboxes or have different hitboxes)

If someone has fire flower and "Sprint Shoots Fireball" enabled, they can accidentally kill the powerup they're going to grab

i think webgl doesnt have audio filter read callbacks
which lets you literally like just fill a float array with sound samples
most likely used by that (and all other) midi things
same reason why -f versions of the music are used in the base game: filters dont work on webgl

the main purpose of that barrier in nsmb is for you to either not break the cutscene of going into the castle or guarantee you the top of the flagpole if you go way above it, which neither are in vcmi (atleast not in the current one),

"match rules" didn't seem to work on Android
at least when I'm the one hosting (though special conditions like low gravity did function as intended)
I was also unable to toggle on-screen controls off, even when I had a PS4 controller connected
lack of music was also an issue but it seems you're already working on that lol
v10 mini kinda had some limitations from the midi plug-in Vic used which resulted in no music in Linux, web and android
but he found a new one so w
as for the other stuff idk
using the trackpad on the PS4 controller also registers a directional input which gets stuck until you press another direction yourself
it's a bit weird and it might be a bit too specific to be worth fixing rn but I figured I might as well include it lol
but yeah, even regardless of those issues, I had a lot of fun playing this with friends
thanks for making this, and even bigger thanks for porting it to Android (I don't have access to a computer right now as my old laptop broke)
besides bug fixes, a few more player models could be nice since rn they're all just NSMB enemies

yeah, I... I just tested it myself and they indeed don't work if you're the host on mobile (although they do if someone else on PC is hosting, even if it shows up as "None")
I have no excuse for this, I completely missed it when building tha android app a couple of months ago. although thx for the bug report, I'll see what might cause this
i greyed out that setting on purpose since i thought no one on mobile would want to disable the on screen controls lol, but I guess it makes sense to leave it available anyway for ppl with external controls
for this, I'm almost completely sure it's an "issue" of how android handles and emulates its external gamepad inputs. I can't do anything about it unfortunately
but thx for enjoying nevertheless! i assure you the experience is better on a computer but no problem

Oh yeah, the toggle for "sprint shoots fireball" was also greyed out
I can infer why that is though, since touch controls are set to auto sprint
The thing is, hitting "reset to default" on the controls screen sets that option on with no way to turn it back lol
However it'll turn back off when you reload the game

Might just be an issue with certain rulesets/conditions
We did "look up = give mega" and that didn't work, but "get star = kill player" does
yeah certain conditions and effects just don't work from what we played
"look up = give mega" worked but only for the host
"get star = launch upwards" was the same
yeah, that's another, unrelated bug
long story short, directional input related conditions are host only by accident. there's an anticheat measure in the game that i missed to add an exception for when coding in those rules
again, sorry for these messy secondary effects to some rules

So the enemies are programmed to jump every time a "bah" note happens in the song
Every instrument is like in its own channel in midi you know
And generally in nsmb the BAHs are in their own unique channel so they're easy to differentiate! So I just say ok for every note in the bah channel make the enemies jump

In this specific song, the beach theme, the BAH instrument is completely mixed in with the drums channel! So the code thinks the drums are BAHs too cause it can't see the difference
So the enemies end up jumping a lot, basically with every drum beat

Did a round with 3 lives per player, getting a 1-UP every 60 seconds, but we only ever got one extra life and I'm pretty sure the match lasted longer than 2 minutes.
Should be noted that the host player ran out of lives and was disqualified shortly after getting the first extra life, so that might have something to do with it
