They'll get more complicated (maybe make it look more friendly with custom dialogues and artwork?), but also hopefully more permissive when creating new gamemodes... But I'm talking too much again

Did you grab it from the vcmi-18-dev branch? It's made for mesh materials for 3d models but there might be an easy way to translate it to a sprite material. Dunno how you'd do that though

Yeah the shader/material takes in 4 parameters, the texture (most important of course), and then amplitude, speed and frequency. A normal range would be 1 or 2 for the first two and about 5 to 10 for the speed. But you gotta experiment
The axis though is baked into the formula. You'll have to go into the FlagWave.shader code (for v17) or the FlagWaving.shader graph (for v18) and manually modify what vertex axis it affects

Yes! It's how I got the hq rips of the sound effects and songs. Choose the audio you need, then right click and select export. In the next dialogue, choose Wave in the file extension/format dropdown
Make sure to have 0 loops and disable Fade
(that's how it's done in version 2 Deluxe, at least...)
It might seem it's "not responding", but trust me it'll finish eventually, after multiple tens of seconds
If however upwards of 2 or 3 minutes have passed and the output file keeps growing in size, you can kill the task. It means it got stuck in a looping portion of the song which you can cut out later

Just ditch midi entirely and try to make different channels/stems using normal oggs. So i.e. grassland_bass.ogg, grassland_drums.ogg, yadda yadda... and mix them with a neat script

Basically you gotta kill the boss to progress to the end of the level and win. The state of the boss (health, behaviour...) is synced and the same for everyone, so it's like you all work together and against each other towards the common goal of defeating the enemy
Now determining who deserves to win is a story for another time
But right now I'm basically asking for feedback on if they should be their own mode or a toggle for race maps such as castles and you know,

ehh i'm sure it's fine, just copy the prefab of an existing enemy and then remove the collision check from the player controller that's deemed unworthy
something like, replacing the flagpole with a boss door for the player in the final lap

you could even do like that one castle level where choosing the wrong path loops you around and choosing the right one gets you to the next area for the boss arenas
