#an underwater level would be cool

I believe already rejected multiple times
Underwater stages wouldn't be that cool
They'd be tedious, this is because stomping players would be quite annoying since they can swim freely, swimming also is quite slow (unless you get a Blue Shell)
This ^
a beach map would be a lot nicer
Yup
ive had the idea for the frog suit for a while which would work for an underwater map
Frog Suit would only be OK in the underwater stage though
Also, that basically will just make it so only 1 player at a time will have this crazy fast speed
imagine swimming up to the ceiling and staying there
that's already an issue in SMM2 Versus
it really wouldn't solve any problem though
you couldn't jump onto anyone underwater
You can go on top of them
That technically can take a star, the problem is, doing that sucks
it does
I was thinking of something more like the sewers level, where you can raise or lower the water like in the Wii version, but up to half the stage, this way, those who are underwater are in a disadvantage because they move slower
Also, since mini mushroom can run above water this could be a good place to make use of that
We could even add the one way blocks that are in the original NSMB
Also, yes, frog suit would work for this kind of level, but would be rendered basically useless if this was its only use
I always have thought of bringing back the Frog suit, but with a complete overhaul
So
Frog Suit characteristics
-Can swim easier underwater
-Can run above water if holding an item (Introduced in SMM2)
-Jumps higher overall
Frog attack
-Mario will perform an attack directly in front of him
-If Mario holds the run button when hitting an opponent, he will be sent forwards with greater speed at a 30 degrees angle (parabolic movement with max height of 3 blocks) (Like the speed boost you get from sliding down a slope and jumping without inputting any direction)
-If Mario instead presses the jump button when attacking, he will be sent flying upwards at great heights (maybe 3/4 the height a propeller suit can ascend), but his horizontal momentum will be reduced by half or less
I've attached a graphical representation of what I'm talking about
I think this beach map was a great concept: https://discord.com/channels/956396409731551263/993942527453437964
it does look very nice!
oh hell no
underwater levels sucks the biggest balls out of the bunch
no fun at all
and flat out slow as hell
guys is there away to remove a post i hought about it i think a beach or a sewer level would be alot better
