Formant pitching is messing with samples

I'm trying to make a sample for a chromatic I'm making, and it's just me saying "ehhhh" but I wanted it to be female sounding, so I used Kerovee to transpose the sample up, and turned the pitching to around 30, so I could sound like a girl, but when i do it too high, it sounds like a chipmunk, and the sample sounds different more like a "baaaaamh", and if i turn it down too much, it sounds muffled and sounds more male than female. Any tips for helping me with this issue?

I want the chromatic to sound more mature sounding? and less girly, like a child

Load your one shot into a sampler.
Use Stretch Pro as your pitch shifting algorithm.
Adjust the formant as desired, and it should remain fairly static as you pitch up/down.

This is called "formant preservation" rather than shifting.

Hey, I tried doing your method and it didn't work too well for me, i keep getting this as a result, and this was with the formant preservation you told me about. I'm still pronouncing a "behhh" but it just sounds extremely wrong. am i doing something wrong? is it the plugin im using to try and sound different? or is there something I'm missing?
