do you have an audio interface?
No i wish
They are pretty expensive no?
My mic doesnt have xlr wouldnt i have to get a new one too
they can be, i have a motu m4, which you can get an m2 for about $200. there's much cheaper ones but, this is something that i wouldn't cheap out with
also, try reducing the workload your pc is going thorugh to process your stuff
reducing voice count in synths, reducing quality settings, trying smart disable, etc
at some point, you'll eventually push your pc too much, especially from what i can tell in the screenshot of your project
computer doesn't infinite processing sry
brooo 200 dollars
How much do xlr mics cost
i commonly see the rode nt1 used, which is a condenser mic which is about $140
there's probably cheaper though. i picked up mine YEARS ago for like $80
So its like 300 dollars atleast if i want an audio interface setup
Damn thats alot of money
do you have a job?
No
yeah of course that's a lot of money lmao, imagine how much bills cost you in general
I can ask for it for christmas i guess 😭
FL is already 200 dollars + you need a pc setup which is liek a thuosand dollars + vst are like infinite dollars
Everything is so expensive
I mean you dont neeeeeeeeeed them but Come on
Theres so much you cant do without them
Theres only so many built in fl plugins
right. but what i'm trying to get at is you don't need plugins to make good music
it helps yes, i'm not going to lie, having expendable income was amazing for buying music stuff
but for like, 6 years i just had my pc and interface and midi keyboard
So what did you use
yeah, like vital, keyzone, supermassive, sample packs, deelay, ott, etc
Theres not that many free plugins
that's cap and you know it
Theres not that many good free plugins
a fair thing to say, but not the end of the world to not have paid plugins
i mean, look at this project i have right now
i bought xpand for $5, and i'm using kontakt for strings and bass
What is xpand
and my effect plugins
xpand is a rompler type plugin. like flex
Dont you have like serum
i do yes
doesn't mean i have to use it all the time, if anything i like having these ready made sounds to use
this is what this project sounds like
I use literally only like 3 vsts
I mean thats cool
But can you make anything past like
Electronic music
Cuz most of the good vsts that emulate real instruments are expensive
is electronic music like, poor mans music or what lmao
right because recording REAL instruments with a REAL person with recording equipment and a studio takes a lot of time to do
i mean, you would need to buy these instruments in the first place if you wanted to play them for REAL
music is not a cheap avenue. the barrier of entry is low yes, but it's not cheap
I thought most of them were synth
kontakt is a multi sampler, meaning it uses samples
Yes i know and it sucks
they record those samples
I think alot of the interesting like
Effect plugins are paid
I feel like theres not alot of free ones past the basic ones

i would disagree with this. most of my plugins i used that were free were effect plugins
I think alot of mine are paid
okay the point is
yeah you're probably gonna have to spend some money
i mean, you can make do with what you have but from it sounds like, it's not
that's what higher quality products are for
when you get job and have dispoable income it will feel a lot different than it does now
Do i start a go fund me or
I cant get a job
why not
Im still in school
then look forward to when you can
