#This my first beat/song on FL studio!

It's like maybe 40% done, I feel like so much more can be added or changed, it looks like a mess, only started using FL studio recently after being a BandLab user for years , im trying to capture that joji/steve lacy feel but also like finding my own style, plugins used, prob just a free drum preset online and mostly FLEX, the guitar recorded just has guitar rig plugin to make it sound echoey, a bit muddy and reverb and thats it lol

i will be adding vocals soon so i oughtta think first before i add too much stuff, pls let me know what you guys think and what more i can do!

Hey Vinz this is really good. I have very little feedback to give - For me its just personal prefernce, but maybe a filter to let a bit more of the mids and highs to speak for themselves? I see what you're going for, so theres no need to add too much more to the sound becuase its already sounding pretty full.

Tbh the only filters i use are Fruity EQ2 and the filters within serum. I put a filter on each track and adjust them individually, and then route a group of similar instruments into a separate channel track and EQ that as a pre-master before it feeds to master output

This is really impressive for a first song... good job. I think it sounds quite muted. You can fix this by using EQ on your tracks, like AstroChef says.

I would also look at panning your samples left and right. Try to keep your beats and bass in the middle, but other instruments like guitars etc. push out to left and righ by (say) 10-30%. It will give it more life and stereo feel.

Changing the left/right pan is possible in many ways. One way is to double-click on a sample in your playlist, and you'll see the pan dial.

You can cheat, and add "Soundgoodizer" to an insert track. This adds compression (life) and reverb (space) but the more you use of these, the more messy it could become. You should only use these minimally really.

I really like this. especially bass, drums are making song entirely dramatic. its very great. and it suprised me this is your first song. keep up the work, you can be good composer!

i really dig it. great cozy lofi vibe, very nice arrangement, especially the drop at 1:07 is really unique and unexpected, i love it! 💜 as some have stated before, i would also add some eqs and give it a bit more air, like just pulling up the highs and mids a bit so you use the whole frequency spectrum. besides that, arrangement wise i think it's perfect as is. looking forward to the vocals!
