Thanks for posting, @true zealot!

my best advice would be a better sound selection, definitely the bass
also strong advice would be to NOT hard pan the drums to the right eardrum
yo i didnt realize how much worse this sounded with headphones 😭
im just gonna make something new this sounds like a circus now
i can hear it well on my speakers
no shame in making many different projects
i also just abandon most
make sure to not do the same mistake as me
you CAN and maybe even SHOULD use melodies/chords,rhythm from your previous projects
i do got 2 other beats maybe i can use stuff from them
i somehow deathly avoided doing that as if it was plagerism

bro
these ones are better but it wont let me send them
Hi @true zealot this is a really good attempt at a first beat! The sampling work is well done! Like lifeless said consider panning the drums more toward the middle and maybe learn what a side chain is and try focusing on sound selection to really bring this beat together
Thanks! im trying to figure out how to make drums fit with samples i do right now. i also have no idea how to properly make drum loops so 😭
also i have no idea how to make my synth or 808s or whatever match up with the beat so it always sounds weird

Ah yes well when you’re first starting out don’t worry about to sounding perfect with experience you’ll eventually learn to know what sounds good well together
yo im trying to sample chop something and do you know why the things are so tiny
im watching a tut and his parts are bigger
Are you able to zoom in
my biggest suggestion would be improving the sound selection, especially the bass, since it carries a lot of the weight. another strong tip is to avoid hard-panning the drums fully to the right ear, as it can feel unbalanced and distracting in the mix
nah fr 😭
try holding control and zooming in
or make the slices thicker
personally i dont like using edison to chop up samples i use serato sampler
yo
sample is actually
pretty good
What is hampering the track down, is the bass
Sample chopping usually goes best for boom bap genre, which doesn't use such overpowering basses. To Fix, try to just turn up the lower end of your sample in the eq to make the already present bass pop out more, and keep the drums simple and groovy.
It's also recommended u use drums with more transience than like, trap drums which are shorter.
