#Merging patterns changes the sound.

I made it unique and 808 patterns still play the ones they should it's just one of the melodies. I've narrowed it down to I think the time knob in shaperbox being the effect that's changing, not sure how though
can you show a video comparing the 2 please
Uhh sure one second and thank you
@static nacelle
can you screenshot your channel rack please
is this before or after merger?
Before merge, I did ctrl z
which channel is the one that gets messed up when merging?
zenology the one routed to 4
can you do me a favor and save the midi as a midi file and send it
before merging
Okay 1 sec
Uhh any idea how I could like only save that pattern as a midi
will soloing it in the mixer work
open the piano roll > top left arrow menu > file > save as midi
or whatever it says
No what I mean is in that video clip and actively as we speak there are other instruments in my pattern. I just have that sound solo'ed*
if you open the piano roll for the channel, and save the midi, it will only save the midi for that one piano roll
Thank you
@static nacelle
so, the problem is that you're trying to use a monophonic patch while you have certain notes in your midi file that are occuring at the same time
the problem with this is, if your synth can only play 1 note, when it encounters 2 notes, what does it do? it has to pick one of the notes, and just goes with that
i don't 100% know how fl handles this interaction, but it seems like when there's some sort of consistency when this happens, when you merge the pattern i guess a different "seed" happens on what the interaction does. so that's why it sounds different when you merge
the solution is to make sure you don't have notes occuring at the same time with a monophonic patch, if you want that legato type interaction, make sure they overlap, but not occur at the exact same time
these notes here are basically not doing anything
but for whatever reason when merging it gets messed up
what they do provide though is probably the legato interaction, so if you want this just highlight all the notes and then stretch them slightly like this (watch the last note it will overlap the bar
Oh wow
thank you
I will try this now
Uh so I selected all the notes and I stretched them by holding ctrl and pulling right but it didn't really misalign the beginning of the notes so the problem persists. I definitely missed something
screenshot your piano roll
you did not delete the bottom notes, the notes that are causing the problem in the first place
I definitely forgot to do that but I thought you were telling me to do something else aswell
the second thing was to stretch your notes so they slightly overlap
I see I see
Thank you again
