#do my vocals sound good? i need mixing advice
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
the vocals seem a little too much out of the instrumental. they sound very punchy and sometimes some words are a little too low. try add some reverse/soft clipper to make them more powerfull

mmm okay i see thank you
like bernard said, subtly run it through a soft clipper to "glue" your vocals to the beat as shown here

MMM wait this sounds so good bro
dont got one yet lowk im making one pretty soon prob next week when i put the song out
dw ill get back to you on it ill try n put it out sooner fs
alr alr
btw
when uploading to streaming services, you p much want to hit 0db constantly, top is the audio from ur vid and the bottom is what i just sent
that's what a soft clipper can accomplish, just don't go overboard or it will sound too distorted
np
did sum more to it so u can hear the beat
what else u do to it cause it sound cool? also do i put the clipper on the mic insert or sum else
I used ozone 12, goated for quickly mastering
As for the soft clipper, just put it on the master so everything gets pushed into it
🔥
One more recommendation, watch for clipping in your vocals, it’s prominent when you say “rock” and “cool”
Idk exact timestamp cuz I’m on mobile rn
oh yeah i see it rn
Do you have 2 takes for …I rock balenci…? Or is it one take?
its jus one take
Hm ok
I guess it’s just going over 0db
I think a soft clipper on the master should fix it
But if it still clips after a soft clipper on the master, put a limiter at the end of your vocal chain with a fast attack and fast release
this what i got rn jus gotta do the adlibs and mess with the clipper more i think and finish the part where i mumble at the end
Clipping seems to be gone which is good
Think you gotta push the soft clipper more, until you’re hitting 0db

id recommend applying some techniques from this vid

ear hurts
what headphones you using? cause it sounded pretty normal to me on my phone, airpods, headphones, speakers, car
I was on the phone and it sounded like that when the volume was full.
it is quite bass heavy
@spiral hemlock i jus finished it but how do i make sure its at 0db
should be hitting 0db if you used some of those techniques
but the C track should be hitting 0
the green should be touching 0 constantly
i aint got fl so its hard for me to find good examples
too much autotune?
