#How do you guys usually fix sounds that cant be panned?

I've made a simple two-chord loop with a Rhodes from Analog Lab V, and I'm trying to pan that audio from left to right, but when I pan 100% right, the audio goes completely silent. I'm assuming this is because the preset is in mono, but isn't there typically a way around this?

Can you try this exact Rhodes and tell me if it pans for you?

perfectly fine

Strange

loud spoke
#

could you try disabling all effects, maybe something is acting up

last geode
#

When i pan mine left it continues playing in both ears

click the yellow switch looking thing at the bottom

lemme retake it w panning and audio rq

#

So in this sc its panned left but its still playing the exact same in both ears

#

and when I pan right it just straight up mutes itself

loud spoke
#

could you by any chance using a mono headphone/listening device

I have studio mixing headphones, but I sometimes use my earbuds because the headphones don't give a good representation of how the audio sounds on a casual listener's device

#

It's the earbuds I'm using right now

#

I'll switch to the headphones to see if there's a difference though

#

but it does say stereo (earbuds)

loud spoke
#

hmm

#

if switching doesnt work, i just want you to confirm that your device can actually listen in stereo by opening a new empty project, put in an audio, and pan it, nothing else

#

or it's the audio device in the settings that's messing up

#

maybe try FL Studio ASIO to test

last geode
#

Okay

#

so for the first thing

#

I have many other projects where I've successfully panned drum patterns, VST loops and many other things so its likely not the system or listening device

loud spoke
#

mhm

#

And using asio didnt fix it either

#

but

#

i noticed something

#

When I pan the sound from left to right, the chorus and reverb effects (I didn't add them, they're baked into the rhodes) becomes more dominant in the ear im panning to

#

but the actual piano keeps playing in both

loud spoke
#

i have never seen this problem before 🤔

last geode
#

ive tried everything i know of including stereo imaging

#

im sure ill get to the bottom of it at some point today

#

On the other project where I had this issue it's even worse because the sound is supposed to have sort of a "call and response" dynamic between the left and right ears but i couldnt get it to work

loud spoke
#

it sounds like the panning knob is panning the effects and not the sound

last geode
#

effects that are baked into the sound/vst btw

#

ill keep digging

loud spoke
#

this is so cursed

last geode
#

even more cursed is that it happens with the consolidated audio too

loud spoke
#

i have no idea how to fix either 💀. but, if you also cant figure it out on your own, i think panda can help because he's just that good

ill try a few more things i can think of then take a break and reach out later td

last geode
#

I think I may have found the issue

#

It could be my computer in and of itself, not the headphones or earbuds

#

I'm not sure when whatever setting that has changed was changed, but there is literally no longer any stereo separation, even on my old projects where there was
