#Crackling that dies down, and isn't recorded in audio...

While trying to record my guitar, I plug in my Spark 40 amp so it can be used 'as an interface', then select it in asio4all to make it an audio input. Once I start playing, it's ok for a while, then this horrible crackling starts when I'm recording, and sometimes when listening back. However this crackling isn't actually recorded in that clip. I've included a clip of what happens (like 5 seconds in), I've tried increased buffer size, reducing the input volume, switching amps, guitars, using FL asio instead, assigning more CPU... all seem to fail :( help please 🙏

even after setting cpu priority to realtime or highest, fl only seems to be using max 7-8% of my cpu?

What does the CPU meter in FL say?

#

If you're only using one insert you're not going to be able to use all of your CPU's other cores so that's probably why the OS CPU meter is so much lower.

can i push this higher?

It goes all the way to 100% but I don't think that's your problem.

#

When you look at the audio settings in FL does it say you've had a lot of underruns?

nah it says zero overruns

Something else is going on then. If it's your CPU not keeping up that wouldn't be a 0.

#

Have you double checked to make sure your sample rate in the ASIO settings matches the one set in the OS?
Also try disabling any unused inputs and outputs to see if there's a conflict there.

#

Btw you're not the only person having this issue with that amp. Recommended solutions range from updating the firmware to removing it from your device list literally every time you're done using it.

I've tried with a different amp, still the same issue...
