So i want pattern 1 in this image to not have that reverb when it stops, i think its called the "tail"? its got a lot of built-in reverb but i want it to just cleanly cut it at the end

Put the plugin "Fruity Balance 64" in the mixer channel you are trying to cut the sound off of. Right click the volume knob in the plugin and create automation clip. Place the clip and set the cutoff where you want it to happen. Works the same as a standard volume automation, but it will cut off ALL sound when it's at zero.
