First ever beat

This is the first beat i ever made and would love some pointers on what i can improve

for a first this is pretty good but like

you need to know sound selection with those drums

the drum pattern needs work

that melody is great though

maybe the bass could be louder?

also in hip hop you dont want the melodies to mask out the sound of the drums

you usually want louder drums w/ a quieter melody

thats just me though

for a first beat though thats pretty good

id say put diff drum loops over the beat and see which one you like the best

and use the sounds from that drum loop, make your own pattern w/ fruity slicer

the drums are something i dont rly like either but i rly struggle with finding once i like

i also only have like 2 drum packs so not a wide selection

easiest method is just to add drum loops over it

theres a bunch of free ones on reddit and stuff like that

just loop up "free drum loops"
