#I can't tell if this is trash or good

Firstly you should get a basic drum beat in there, if there is one but it's heard to hear, learn how to properly use the Mixer (TONS of YouTube videos on this), and for the notes themselves on both the bass and guitar, make sure they are in the same if not similar keys. It feels all over right now, but just keep practicing, find things you like, learn things you don't like till you like them, etc. and you'll be on your way soon enough!
similar keys?
It's a music theory/ reading sheet music thing, helps make the notes sound good together. Look up the scales and such and that will help a lot with melodies and the like
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_(music) <- that key
I am not at all cut out for anything music theory related
Sure you are! It'll take time to learn for sure but in the mean time you can also right click the little note button on the top of the piano roll and have it snap your notes automatically so they are within the same scale. This is a good starting point in terms of the notes themselves, of course it's all "if it sounds good, use it" in the end, but the idea of scales and music theory are the works of all the musicians before us making music and figuring out those correct rules and put it into words for us to understand it easier. They did the heavy lifting, we just need to listen and internalize, eventually it'll stick!
