I'll make some coffee n experiment sure

wanton oyster
#

would help to add some chords or progression i think!

winter herald
#

yea that seems to be my most consistent problem. adding interest without making it lose whatever cohesion it has

wanton oyster
#

fl studio's latest version has a chord progression tool i think, it really helps a bunch, try it!

#

that way you can build an entire melody out of some chords that the tool helps suggest

i think you can even choose how you want your chords to feel, like sad/somber, and it'll just generate a bunch of chords in minor keys lol

winter herald
#

my friend said this sounded like a certain hollywood undead song and zxz saying it was emo rap

that's pretty interesting actually

#

maybe i'll look into adding some guitar

sure. sample quality/choice is important btw, it makes all the difference. fl studio's default slayer sounds kinda bad, maybe you could get some interesting tones from flex. throw in some processing like FL's hardcore plugin and play around
