One word: Voicings. You can do a lot by inverting chords and moving them down more. Also, I like to listen to a chord progression in a loop, because you don't need it to instantly resolve. You can just let it loop on itself a couple of times to let yourself hear how it sounds more. Also, I wouldn't suggest doing a quad chord as the final one, if you're truly worried about chord progressions as a whole. Chords with the 7s in them tend to have that little bit of dissonance without being powerful, and it leads it to not feeling like it gets "resolved" to
