i think the brass might not fit too well right thee
re
also its my first time trying something orchestral
so if you see something that could be better here lmk
I like this. It sounds like battle music from an old school jrpg. My only suggestion is I think the drums at the end are slightly out of place. They sound like ethnic drums, but I think you might want to try them as Timpanis or something similar, something you would hear in a big orchestra. Hope to hear more of this soon, good luck!
Alright man
Thanks for the support
By the drums at the end do you mean the drums at the VERY end
because those are just some marching band toms
they just go on longer than the other tracks so hearing them singled out is strange
They act as my kick
If this is understood but it still doesn’t fit I can agree w that too tho
yea it must be the toms, at 9 seconds and beyond.
it probably works with the rest of the song actually, but yeah just hearing them at that part by themselves was different. I like it, good job on it
Oh okay
Well thanks
That means a lot
yw
Also I have this question
you hear the brass
I’m not sure if it fits
In that file, I have it on the first bar only
Should I tone it down
this is the same one without that track
sounds good to me, I would leave it where it is personally. It's sharp and forceful. Makes for some really good battle music for an rpg or like a tense moment in a story.
this is cool as well. I would find a spot in the song to transition either from this to the first, or from the first to this
alright i can get behind it
I would probably start with the 2nd one, so you start soft, and then build to the forceful first one
thats not a bad idea, something i will probably do in arrangement
also man just one more question
sure
im guessing youre like well experienced
i legit cannot start, transition things
or do any like actual changes in my music
unless its a simple trap beat drop
hey bro any advice is advice worth while
yea i struggled with that at first too, just got to experiment with stuff until it becomes smooth to do. Watch a lot of youtube videos about people making songs, and then one thing I would do is make new versions of my stuff (new saves) so i could experiment on them without messing up the originals. Sometimes you screw around and find something that is cool, sometimes it just ends up as practice time, but that's still worth it
also whatever kind of music you want to make, listen to a lot of that music
so that you will hear things and get ideas and inspirations and stuff
so like if this is going to be a song for an rpg, go listen to rpg music, or if you want to make a pop song, listen to pop songs. You'll hear those transitions in them, and eventually be able to figure out how to do them.
one thing on transitions that I have learned, is to usually keep it simple. Don't jump all around to something crazy, take a first step that is a small step or note change, and then go from there.
but yeah, like i said im only a handfull of months in as well. Been taking this serious since about October, and i feel like ive got a lot better, but i don't think im good by any means lol. And I need to figure out how to do all the automation stuff, that's what i need to start focusing on this week when i get time.
I have a track up right now on here that i would love feedback on if you get a chance. Nbd if you can't tho. But ya dude, goodluck with this song. Got a good foundation starting out on it, keep sharing.
