is the melody alright tho
Its too ambient in my opinion
Like im not gonna remember what i heard 5 mins after listening to this
Im just gonna think yeah it was ambient
what do u suggest
what should i add
Some lead at least to make a hummable melody always think about the catchiness when making a beat
yes
Like can you hum it
i strruggle with that
i got a lead vut its very silent in the background
also u think i can add drums to it
like
ill try acoustic drums
If you lower the bass a lot add something catchy then add drums yeah
It dont have to be crazy just make it memorable in any way
So someone wanna return to it
wdym
oh
ok yeah
Ye you feel me cause otherwise why even relisten to it
If im a listener
Do i make sense
yeah
Bet
I add kick and 808 always but i make trap beats so its mandatory
For the intro keep the bass
Then eq it out
When the drums come in
And for the bridge let the bass out again
By eq i mean cut out the low end of the melody so it doesnt clash with the drums
The 808 and kick
wdym by eq it out
like just remove kt
when the drums start
im new to fl
oh
the bridge is like
so ok ur saying the bridge has the bass and stuff and the main part ill use 808s
It goes intro main part verse bridge main part verse bridge main part end
For intro and main part keep bass
And the verse is twice the length of the main part maybe even three times the length
I mean intro and bridge
Keep bass my bad
whats in the verse again
The stuff after the catchy main lyrics
oh
The more random lyrics
All the leads and stuff are ate the main part the catchy things i mean
At the verse add other stuff
To make it interesting
But the verse is not the main point
yeah
I gtt eat good luck if u need anything dm me bro
should i add a vocal sample or somrzhing
ty bro

If u want yeah
I added drums
so you want feedback on the levels?
the mix sounds clean and clear
the only tweak i'd consider making is to make room for the lead by removing some frequencies in the bass
bro but i feel like
the drums sound shit
melody shit
like dont u feel like the drums are kind of plain
theyre pretty loud, they just dont have a punchy transient
so you could try using compression and saturation
but theres nothing wrong with softer drums
holy shit
i just listened to ur insta
dude thats the type of melodies i wanna make
i gotta learn mixing im really confused
its fr up to you tho, as long as people can hear all the instruments in the track clearly i think you did a good job
just keep trying everyone is just applying the basics, here and there they'd do more creative things but you can still break it down to the basics its just presented in a complex way
and do some research but it takes a while,
watch like tutorials on production specific to the genre
thats what help me
whats the genre on this type of melody
thanks broo 🙏

mmm
holy shit
no joke the melody is crazy
like stupid crazy
i wanna make stuff like that too
i honestly have no idea i was going for something trap and ambient
the chord progression was something that old yeat had in his beats but i used like ambient keys and reversed them then from there i just tried to make it catchy
listen to frank dukes bro
he makes these weird ass melodies but he makes them catchy
so ive just been trying to do what he does
and i say get a midi keyboard
before i used to be a mouse click warrior but i always kept making the same melodies
but once i started learning how to play thats when i was able to feel more creative
even if you havent learnt much just play
i felt like this wouldve went crazy when jersey club was popping but oh well its gonn stay in the vault
oh damn
😭
usually i just use my keyboard and see if i like the sound
fs man
melody crazy
thats still good honestly, i'd rather do that than to click in
idk i just dont work like that
do u think i should finish the thing i did earliee
it sounds complete to me, maybe just do some eqing and experiment with sound design, you can also still try to make the drums more punchy and see if you mess with it
yeah and ill try to arrange some parts
i gotta get into eq stuff idk how that works at all
watch these
the whole beginners guide to mixing & mastering is so good so i'd start by watching the vid then i'd try to apply what was taught asap

We've just added a new video tutorial by Dan Worrall. This time he explains the fundamentals of EQ'ing in a mixing situation, starting with the basic shelf, cut and bell shapes as found on a hardware console, to precision EQ'ing using a modern plug-in like FabFilter Pro-Q 2.
In the final part 2 of this series, Dan Worrall continues with a thorough break down of a full mix, and explains how general EQ'ing is applied to the different elements. He offers some very useful tips and tricks to achieve the best separation of elements.
tysm ill start watching tomorrow
for suree and dont forget to take your time.. you dont even need to finish the entire mix just apply lil bits of knowledge and you'll see that it'll add up in the end
Bro every time you hop on fl you learn something new
So take your time
Someone might make beats for years and still learn everyday its not a race its a marathon
Learn the very basics like the most used chord progression and because theres the feature where you set the scale and key in fl its not that important otherwise it would be rlly important
I learn basic music theory as i was making the beats
You dont need nothing complicated cause its gonna block your creative ideas since you gonna use only whats "right"
Yeats producer said he dont know music theory
Not bnyx the othe rone
One
yeah u right
@torpid veldt yo is there too much going on here
nah it, depends on what else youre gonna add
but it sounds big and majestic
im gonna add uhh
a lead
and reese bass
you can get away with panning and leveling tbh
everything will fit if you mix it properly
panning?
like left and right
yeah not all the way though just a lil
but it’s optional leveling will still do the most
but if you pan it’ll make the mix sound more full and for ambient stuff it can add to the overall feeling
anyways that’s what i think
