Do you have a plugin in mind you're looking to install?

rapid sequoia
#

Ive heard that vital is good? I don't really have any money after buying fl studio lol so yea anything free

tacit nymph
#

Vital is good yes

#

There's plenty of free things available as well

rapid sequoia
#

yeah i've tried to install vital and like get it into fl studio but i dont understand how to, even after watching tutorials

tacit nymph
#

There's 3 ways to install plugins, depending on how the plugin was downloaded

  • an installer that installs it for you in the standard location

  • a separate.dll files that you have to move manually

  • through a plugin manager program

Vital in this case should've came with an installer. Did you already run the installer?

rapid sequoia
#

Yeah, i already installed it

tacit nymph
#

In FL go to Options > manage plugins > find installed plugins

You should see it pop up on the list after it's done. Cook the star next to it

Since it's a generator, it will appear in the + list in the channel rack

rapid sequoia
#

That's my problem, i've followed plenty of videos telling me to do this but vital doesnt come up on the list?

tacit nymph
#

Did you install it correctly then? Or can you screenshot me your plugins list

rapid sequoia
#

also, if i search vital nothing comes up

tacit nymph
#

Re run the installer and walk me through what you're clicking on

rapid sequoia
#

alright

#

Im in the installer choosing where to install it

#

is there any specific folder or something i put it in?

tacit nymph
#

Usually the default is fine, but what exactly does your installer say?

rapid sequoia
#

ill send you pictures of the process

#

and now it says install complete

tacit nymph
#

It shouldve specified the vst location during the installation, why didn't you mention that?

rapid sequoia
#

oh im sorry thats my bad

#

ill redo it again and check?

tacit nymph
#

Yes that's why I asked to run through the installer again lol

rapid sequoia
#

sorry man lol

#

here is all

The only location that you don't have is the 3rd picture, which, shouldn't be a problem if the others a fine, so I'm wondering if that's causing an issue

#

You could also add the Steinberg/vstplugins folder to the search paths if you want but that folder isn't used much by other plugins anymore

rapid sequoia
#

I think it worked now when i rescanned?

tacit nymph
#

Yeah

rapid sequoia
#

also what is the difference between clap, vst and vst3?
