Your sample's BPM does not match your projects BPM

fallen burrow
#

You must find the sample bpm

#

In your dreams

Tap tempo

You gotta learn to find the tempo of songs without google

#

Its super useful

fallen burrow
#

I just got good enough at that to actually use samples effectively

#

Only bad thing is when the bpm changes

fallen burrow
#

You have to find out the tempo on your own

golden remnant
#

fallen burrow

#

You just gotta listen to the sample, and try to find the speed at which things happen

Does it have time stretching settings enabled?

Something else I just noticed, your drum pattern seems to be an odd length

golden remnant
#

its at 13

rancid hinge
#

Normally you want it to be something like, 4, or 8 bars long. Since your are 4/4 as your time signature. You want it to go 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4. Make sure your pattern itself isnt like, 3, or 5 bars long.

golden remnant
#

i just made it 8 bars it still sounds pretty bad

For example, this is a drum pattern in a beat I made

golden remnant

#

I notice that the end of pattern 2 does not like up with the grid on the playlist as well, is there a reason for that? or could that be part of the issue?

The green line is matched to the BPM of your project, whereas the end of your pattern does not match up with that

golden remnant
#

oh

#

idk that was just the default length of the pattern

#

I gotta get off my pc for a bit so I wont be able to help much more, but here is an example of me making a drum pattern on a sample. Step one needs to be finding your sample's BPM, then match your projects bpm to it. Then you make sure the sample loops correctly, then you can do drums.
