yes. if i put notes right next to each other, itll play as one whole note that slides up and down. So in that case, id like for the sustain to last until theres a break

If you want a dynamic envelope like this then unfortunately you will just have to do the volume adjustment yourself. In this case you could utilize slide notes
The envelope is very static so, when the note plays, the envelope moves based on how it's set. It can see or predict notes ahead of it and adjust as a result
