Hey! So, the kick pattern isn't really that typical for the west coast genre if that was what you were going for. The bass is to loud and should be sidechained in my opinion. The "westcoast lead" is a little to low aswell and should have fewer and longer notes.
Pretty sure i've seen west coast leads that go lower in pitch, but idk, and also i didn't know there were specific kick patterns i had to go for when it comes to west coast, can u give me a few examples or smth? I thought i js gotta make something unique but still west coast. And the bass imo is perfect but the listener's thoughts matter more ig so what do you mean by sidechained? I need smth alongside with it?
sidechaining means ducking the bass when the kick comes in. It gives more bounce, but that is what I prefer as I said. I meant low as in volume on the lead btw. should be a tad bit louder. The bass is really cool just a little to short and raggy. It should be longer imo

Ohhh okay i'll rise the volume of the whistle. And, i'll try sidechaining it too
And the 2 examples, i know both tracks bro, fire shit, and i see the pattern of kicks in Gin & Juice, i understand it now, but idk if its just me but Forgot About Dre is just hats and snare, i don't hear kicks
There a definetivly kick in forget about dre, but they are very short with almost no high end at all. probably not that easy to hear unless you are listening through studio monitors or a headset
