I know you can do it in the playlist if you're using instrument tracks. Right click the track header and select 'show ghost notes'. Then you can choose other patterns from the menu at the top right of the piano roll like with other ghost notes.

Then you haven't been doing what I'm talking about.
In my screenshots kepler exo and sytrus are 2 different patterns.
Hit f8 and drag a plugin into the box where it says 'track 2' in the playlist. That's called the track header, and this will make that track an instrument track.
Then right click it and make sure 'show ghost notes' is selected. It should have already made a pattern for you.
The 2nd one is the sytrus pattern idk why it cut off in the screenshot.
Instrument tracks make a bunch of things easier.
