@wanton mason sounds worthy, but some timing seems off, or maybe you are ducking too hard set the release a bit shorter

wanton mason
#

My main problem is that it doesnt sound like its in a big room like with the newer david guetta and morten tracks

#

Maybe needs more compression idk

candid iris
#

I know what it is, listening closer. Don't use the ducking on the higher elements, unless it has a purpose on the sound

wanton mason
#

Are you talking about sidechain?

candid iris
#

As for getting the sound, first get the composition. Then for individual sounds you want to cut the lo/high limits, up the mid range, widen elements, add a reverb send you can control

#

yeh, although using sidechain to duck the volume, called ducking haha

wanton mason
#

Thanks

#

I do want to only release this song once im 100% satysfied with it

wish i had some old projects to show, i used to be big on this kind of music but have lost about 4000 tracks in my time

Oh

candid iris
#

although not really arranged here (it's an unfinished demo)

#

those are well old though. new stuff i'm alot better with sound but haven't really done any banging stuff

wanton mason
#

Thx!

candid iris
#

I think the best way, is listen to each instrument by itself, and try to make it sound great by itself

#

and then work on the elements that clash, and try and make those sound good together

wanton mason
#

i think the drop is finished. will probably start working on the full song this week

yeh i wasn't sure really, tried vital for about a day, serum also looks good. i have native instruments komplete collectors, so have massive / X which I love

wanton mason
#

I used sytrus before vital and i also tried harmor. But i think vital fits me best for now

Bro 😭 my earphones broke so i had to buy a new one for like 3€. And gosh it sounds terrible. It cuts so much of the highs i cant its almoost unlistenable. I dont even wanna touch my song like this.

39 seconds for a loop is a long time with only 1 change in the sound in my opinion. but the loop sounds soft. i had to turn my headset up all the way to even hear it. other than that i like the way it sounds just isnt very loud

what drop

odd harness
#

after the low pitch 3 tone beat at the end of each loop you should add a reverse 3 note beat/something extra that matches the kick cause its missin some spice in the empty spaces in track 1. so after 00:07, 00:13 etc etc. im also going off a soft sound so there might be something already there im not hearing cause the volume is lower

#

but rn im with these 3$ earphones :c

wanton mason
#

Im scared to touch my song because if i do mixing and stuff on it, it will probably sound ass on a normal headphone

candid iris
# marble spade what is that bass? serum?

Sorry missed your message here. Can't remember it was a long time ago and lost the original! Was never organised with instruments, tended to just scour my instruments for a sound I like. Don't have Serum though. Sounds pretty basic though, could be a sampled bass (years ago tended to work with sampled instruments)

am i the only one lost about the mixing thing

This is nowhere near a month's worth of work, unless you hopped on it for a few hours a week or so

#

But it sounds cool
