#Best settings for guitar?

I've been having some trouble with ASIO4ALL and it honestly sounds like shit
FL ASIO sounds great just shitty 1 sec delay which is annoying
If you have an interface, install/use the dedicated driver.
If you don't have an interface (or a dedicated driver) ASIO4ALL is the lowest latency you'll get, but it has some quirks.
I would use my dedicated driver (Universal Volt) but I need special headphones for my interface for some reason
Special headphones? Or just a quarter inch adapter?
They're like $2 if that's the part your missing.
Nope it's not an adapter I would need a set of headphones designed for my interface
Are you using bluetooth/wireless headphones?
No I am using wired headphones
The UA volt has a 1/4" headphone jack on the front, that's very standard on audio equipment.
you should be able to use any headphones. Maybe you need a 3,5mm to 6,3mm adapter?
Most consumer stuff has switched to an 1/8" plug, so you'd need an adapter.
ah ok
without the need of an adapter or having to pay for something would there be a better driver I could use?
Or if I can just fix my 1 sec delay problem I would be set. I used FL ASIO no problem before I had to reset my pc
No not really. Mixing/matching audio devices is not Windows' specialty.
Windows can do it, but you'll have like 60ms latency, maybe more if using multiple devices.
Asio4all can also do it, but its kind of a pain, and will not share with Windows.
On MacOS you can get away with this no problem, but it's quite a pain on Windows.
Damn
you already have an interface, so you should also use it😃
I had this interface for about a year now and had no problems with it until recent
It's obviously something with my FL I forgot to fix or add
You've had a UA Volt for a year, and have never experienced the glory of a dedicated ASIO driver? Cursed.
Never thought I had to. FL ASIO was working fine at the time
It kinda bugs me how i had FL ASIO working but now all of a sudden it has delay
Take a screenshot of your audio settings panel, it can help us guide you.
That's the asio config panel. Grab the one before this.
Yeah, that looks normal. 60ms ish output latency, so ~120ms round trip.
It has a slight delay
When I have asio4all turned on I notice a massive difference
Correct, and that's how the dedicated driver will behave too. But it will also let you play a YouTube video in the background, or talk on discord while you're in FL.
110% recommend spending the $5 or whatever for an adapter.
Yes, it's the intended use case for your interface. The driver and interface are supposed to work together to give you a smooth audio recording/payback experience on Windows.
ah ok
@digital pumice Watch your profanity.
ill just buy one then
It's $5, you won't regret it.
would u be able to give me a link to the adapter i need
In your country, google for a quarter inch adapter, I can confirm if it's the right thing.
and 3.5mm headphones works for quarter inch adapter?
In America I think they're 1/8th and 1/4, but elsewhere it's 3.5mm and 6.3mm
It should be very similar to the image Day1 linked above. It shouldn't be hard to find.
2 of each style, big to small, and small to big. $8 CAD.
Marked up to $10 at best buy
etc etc.
yes.
