(i know it's short and obviously has no melody whatsoever but considering that about 50 minutes of that hour went into picking the right sounds and searching stuff up that i couldn't find i find it pretty decent)

Hey @novel turtle if this is your first beat, then my boy your drums patterns are easily a 12/10, way better than I started off. It is very rough figuring out sound selection when first starting off and the only recommendation I have for that is finding free versions of the best platinum producers' kits (I'd say crack them but you didn't hear that from me), and try to begin working on creating drums over a melody to train your ear and sound selection because it is most important when going over a melody. If you don't know how to make a melody, look up "royalty free loop kits" on youtube of whatever genre you want.
