what
i dont kno w how to write electronic music dude
๐ญ
uh noob music theory question, can the D# here fit in the chord below it
my ass can NOT read piano roll
yes it can but
can you send the audio
i happen to have a great ear for this type of question
ok i will send without the fast arp so it's easier to hear
like flick idk
the second loop
my brain say it fits because if i put a D# in the chord it becomes 7th
so if the melody is just octave higher it should fits also
yay
Emaj7 is a diatonic chord in C#minor so using D# is nothing out the ordinary
idk... what diatonic is ๐ญ i should go learn more music theory
you should definitely learn how form basic triads of the major and minor scales yes
and also triad inversions
and also 7th and 9th chord extensions which arent that uncommon in edm
wait i typed in this thing Emaj7 and it showed the chord with D# in it lets go skip the music theory ๐ ๐
jk i will still learn
#lol
i wonder if you could understand any of this https://viva.pressbooks.pub/openmusictheory/chapter/triads/
without knowing sheet music
thats not like a joke comment like i really have no clue if the explanation make sense for a beginner
i only understand the first 2 dots in the key takeaways lol
my god why do they use horn instead of piano
how weird
wouldnt that be nice
no i am just a wannabe multi genre composer
but everything i write sounds like its from an indie video game
but when i type in they are 1 note different
but they still work the same?
no they are two different chords with different notes
๐ค
adding 7ths to a chord changes its sound a lot
well maybe it doesnt if you arent that familiar with how 7ths sound
but does the Emaj chord (E, G#4, B) fit with a D#
im very slow at understanding stuff :/
let me watch a music theory video
but if you mean what happens when you write an E major chord and then add D# in the melody the answer is your melody is going to sound like a Emaj7 chord
sorry that explanation makes no sense lol
now i understand it
heres a better way to put it maybe
melodic lines are often part of a chords structure
like uh
melodic lines also contribute to a songs harmony
i mean melodic lines are made out of notes at the end of that day
and so are chords
chords are literally just notes stacked vertically
i mean its all notes at the end
got it
actually.. you dont even need chords to write a harmonic progression
melody can do that on its own
but thats a more advanced topic so i wont ramble about that
@uncut yacht so i made the problematic chord have both G# and D# so the melody can go they both are good now but are the chords now still good (the melody loops twice with G# and D# at the chord thing)
which chord is problematic
Emaj7 typically has G# in it yes
um any other feedbacks also this is the new one
a lot more memorable congratulations
melody writing is getting better
usage of more sustained notes is good
uhm..
im proud of you by the way @steady drift
yay
put piano on short plate reverb
and the strings, make em more stereo, in a wide room close up with little decay and lower its volume a bit
now what
um ok
too much reverb makes the song disappear ๐
alright ๐ ๐
specially on the highernotes
sucks kill yourself
๐
whyt this man getting targeted sm
๐ญ
it's funny in the negative
"id love you when dead" necrophilia kinda joke
man
this
sent me back
7 years
i completely deranked
irl
This is critisism
You wouldnt understand
