Go to ASIO4ALL, click this to go into advanced mode, expand your interface to show all the channels, then send a screenshot of that
can you expand the interface please
wdym
oh sorry
hmm peculiar
okay, bit of a power move here
go into the windows run dialog by pressing Win+R, then run the following command
control mmsys.cpl,,1
and send a screenshot
what does that do
opens the recording settings and shows the status of each thing windows considers an audio device
should look similar to this
asio works in strange ways
that's just what windows considers it
it doesn't actually have anything to do with which input is which
well it still isnt getting any signal from my guitar into fl
you've ensured that the mic portion works though?
nope, got got a mic that i can plug into my interface
nothing
if you go back to that control panel thing, does the meter turn green when you play?
nope
wait its working
just doesnt work with the instrument cable female ensd of the interface
whar
See it should work with the female end to the right of where it’s plugged in
But it doesn’t
into where it says "Inst 2"?
Yep
do you mind sending a picture of your mixer insert in FL that's using the interface input?
this thing
sorry im honestly not too knowledgable on fl and i need to actually learn it more
so i may be a bit confused regarding some questions
see where it says "In 1"? that means it's only going to pull from the left (xlr port)
if you switch it to "In 2" it will pull from the Inst 2 port instead
switched it, doesnt pull anything
also my guitar sends noise through even if i dont got fl open and everything, how should i mute that so it only plays from fl and the 2 things dont overlap if lets say i got an effect and i still hear the regular clean guitar playing while the effected guitar is also playing
sorry im not the best with wording this
like you can hear it through your headphones plugged into the direct monitoring port?
yes, but i mean like without fl it plays a clean guitar noise, but with fl and connecting everything, both of those sounds overlay and sound weird
my computer rezognizes the interface and plays signals from it into my headphones , but fl also does that and then they both overlap
so for example, i set it to in 1 in 2 and while theres signal pushing through on the left channel, theres none pushing through on the right within fl, but i still hear stuff in the right channel because my computer processes the noise from the inrterface and sends signal, even if fl isnt open
Well, the direct monitor is supposed to play what the interface receives
That's the interface's doing, not the computer's
well it causes problems if im adding effects to the guitar because i can still hear the guitar that isnt from fl
If you're doing anything with effects, you're supposed to be listening from the output ports, not the direct monitor
Still weird that the right channel doesn't output anything in FL though
switched headphones to the output ports on the back of my interface and i still hear stuff that isnt from fl if thats what youre trying to say
