Composition:
How did some aspects make you feel?
What did it remind you of?
Any tips composing to make the song more real sounding and impactful?
Mixing:
How can i mix everything better to make everything more cohesive and impactful?
Total:
How good-quality does the song feel? Be completely honest about this, i just want to gauge how well im doing things
And any favorite parts yall have?
ive always love the ott on the soft piano by labs brings out such textures, although im not sure everyone would agree i like it !
You mean the whole song or just the piano?
the first upwinder transitioning to the drop with a downwinder sounds unnatural
the guitar is nice
but that upwinder + downwinder is overused
and i think its clipping
the sub bass drops are too loud, thus the limiter ducks the entire track
Do you know where i can find good risers?
So how can i create an impact while not going past the limiter?
you can make them yourself, and you stumble across some samples on your journey. Its not the risers that are the problem, its the way and how often you use them
there are some tricks for that, i dont wanna explain em all cuz itll take ages but basically you can use cleverly placed filter automation, volume automation and multiband sidechain compression
and you need more than just a sub bass drop sample in order to create a sense of impact
