Thanks. What plugin do you recommend for this? I got Auto-Tune Compressor for example, or would you go with a stock plugin? Which would be my only alternative
Use stock ones
they are good
Like Limiter?`Or Fruity Compressor?
Can't find anything on google about how to saturate with that one, altho I didnt dig too deep. If its not too difficult to explain, could you give me some pointers? Or maybe there is a preset I can use?
for the compressor use fruity compressor
and for the saturation use soundgoodizer with a low wet ratio or fruity waveshaper
This is pretty much all for the beginners
also eq the low ends
Alright. Soundgoodizer is already on there on the B setting cranked about 40%. Adding compressor now
Added more compression. I've been making music for over a decade, but am still getting the hang of the mixing in FL Studio. I think it came out pretty good. Feedback on my vocal performace etc. also appreciated ofc.
Vocals are still a bit lost in the mix. Try mixing it with your master volume turned down. Mix so you can still hear the vocals. EQ, compress/(side chain compress) and adjust track sliders as appropriate. Maybe try panning the instruments. Do this because our ears detect frequencies differently at different volumes.
So essentially you think I should increase the vocals' volume in relation to the instrumental a bit? About panning the instruments, I did not make the beat so I only have access to the single audio track of it
yeah sort of. the vocal signal is a bit muddy as the instrumental kind of takes over. Try compress the vocals more (if you hear a lot of rap, the vocals are sometimes highly compressed). Try eq out the mid frequencies in the instrumental so your vocals come through more. and look into sidechain compression
