I saved a version of what I was working on and that worked but I decided to lengthen it and tru to get a crossfade at the end and the beginning so I used Edison and that may have been wrong. How the heck do I save this song and export properly as an MP3 or MP4 and be able to hear the dang thing? I am a noob so please be patient with me.
#When saving as MP3, song is totally silent??

show you export settings
absolutely, where should I start, just to make sure I'm doing this correctly, save as?
Export
when you click that it'll ask you to name, then bring up your export settings
Oh, oops
so you're saying, if you were to press start, and listen to the file it would be silent?
from the saved file
once I open it in a media player, it's silent
the time is right, but it's silent
but it's not silent in FL
can you go ahead and render this out and post it here?
oh like the song?
yes
can you screenshot your mixer please?
can you screenshot your playlist?
what part of it do you want to see
all of it
well, that's just a small portion of it
what are you looking for in the playlist that I might be able to show you?
any automation clips
do me a favor and switch your audio device in audio settings to FL Asio, then render out an mp3
post it
what plugins are you using in the channel rack for these sounds?
what happens if you render out a .wav instead of a .mp3
Idk man this is goofy ASF ngl
@mossy wave this issue is super cringe what do you think about this
I tried to go through my normal stuff I check but this feels different, hopefully someone else has a second opinion @fiery jay
Thank you! I downloaded it fine the first time but I messed around and now I can't get even one to download properly 🙃
Thank you for trying @dapper finch
Last thing can you screenshot your edison?
I booted down but I can tomorrow! I think Edison is the problem, I really do
lol ok so edison was blank, I uploaded the project into it and this is nothing like what it looked like before, before you could see the sound waves. I uploaded one of the "blank" songs...ugh
opened a second version and got this
Remove Edison from your master and then try rendering it.
If that doesn't work, can you export the project as a zipped loop package and then upload it here for me to look at?
How do I technically remove it, just delete "the sample"?
Click the > Next to Edison's name in the mixer and then click Delete
should I do this in the blank one or the one with the populated audio in edison
just deleted the one with a blank one and it wouldn't let me test it in media player because of the audio being used in FL, closed FL, tried to test it out, totally sillent
Both
still silent 😦
Can you send the project over, [like this](#1218374862842888292 message)?

Oh yes! Let me try
ok so, now it's silent completely for me in FL
@fiery jay The reason why it exports nothing is that you have a custom playlist selection shown in the picture. Im not sure how you managed to do that without the Playlist expanding to show it, but hitting CTRL + D with the playlist selected will remove the selection and let you export the song as you intend.
Why would it get rendered the full length if they had a selection? Wouldn't it have just been a 0 second render?
The point of a custom render selection is to exactly render the selected portion, so no
so....ok. what exact part do I select to make his work again or can I just do ctrl + D
With the Playlsit selected, CTRL + D will work
AHHHHHHHHH THAT WORKED
so, I could have accidentally pressed it, I am recovering from wrist surgery and have a new computer I'm not super used to typing on yet, I don't super know how I did it but, regardless, YOU FIXED IT!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
No problem 🙂 Happy producing.
In the render settings, instead of "Leave remainder" use "Cut remainder"
