Hello guys, im looking to achieve powerful basses like in the song below. To me it sounds massively distorted but im struggling to understand how distortion works and what plugins to use to achieve that sound. Feel free to recommend plugins, mixing or sound design tips. ❤️

I should think it some kind of compression mixed with limiting, just a guess though!

Create an instance of patcher, you can load 3osc and use a saw or pulse wave, lower the octaves try -24, send the output to the sound exit, in parallel send the signal to fruity destructor and an eq, cut the low end in the line with distortion, so that you have a clean bass with distortion in parallel which does not affect the bass, (so you got 2 sounds, pure bass + distortion and send your bass in side chain with your kick, you can also apply some reverb BEFORE the side chain, so the the rev open and closes, giving that sense of majesty, you can also play with filters(high-low pass) in your distorted chain, then you can compress the whole thing and see how it sounds,
Of you had to do all in one mixer channel, the sound would be much different and much harder to control

Well, to recreate exactly that sound, you need to be good in sound design… I explained a general way on how to have deep clean low ends mixed with distortions..
