#FL Studio not recognizing Sidekick 2 plugin
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
It's on windows, the plugin isnt found by FL Studio (note that i have the right search paths for plugins in plugin manager)
is this plugin in the VST2 or VST3 format?
VST3 as stated by the file
i can provide the link if you wanna test it out
The weird thing is, that when i used it on cakewalk, it found it and it worked perfectly fine
So SideKick2 (64).vst3 is placed in %commonprogramfiles%\VST3 right?
I didnt place it there, i have a folder that i store all of my plugins regarding if they are VST2 or 3
All VST3 files have to go in %commonprogramfiles%\VST3 per Steinberg's spec for VST3
gimme a sec to try it
Cakewalk might support VST3 files in other places but technically it's only supposed to work from that directory for VST3 plugins
Works fine for me when I put it in that directory
It doesnt seem to find it again
Can you send a screenshot of you plugin manager?
Nevermind, it appeared that the folder didnt have the vst3 file in it
dumb me
Sorry
It turned out it was the wrong VST3 folder i put it on (Cause there is also one for onedrive)
Oh yeah stay far away from anything OneDrive when it comes to FL Studio
Thanks for your help

ah man I can't relate enough, couple time ago I didn't wanted to store my "document" folder in onedrive because of limited storage, I moved the files to different drive and disabled the onedrive, everything was working fine, forward to next few days, when I opened my pc, It asked me to enable and move al my default folder to onedrive, I was so dumb to not read the instructions and clicked the ok button without knowing, then you already know what exactly happened, next few hours, got wasted on shorting things and making everything similar as it was before.
It happened to me like 2- 3 time
after that i disabled, removed it from, autostart, and disabled, as many things I can for this shitty application!
OneDrive is a blight. Literally one the first things I do when I install widows is remove OneDrive, with the exception of my school laptop
Why you remove one drive though?
Other than back up, does it have any more capabilities?
Other than back-up, it just messes up with your brain, and your computer.
I really don't like this application's oversmartness that makes it the worst cloud service ever!
how it can mess up your pc
tbh, i dont really use it
it just does stuff on its own
By default OneDrive likes to sync everything in your Documents folder. Let's say you have a file open in a program and you are editing it. When you save your edits, OneDrive sees the file has changed and starts to sync it, but if you save again while OneDrive is uploading/syncing the file you will encounter instability and crashes because two program handling the same file at the same time is no good.
OneDrive is fine for like documents or pictures, but it is not fine for files you are working off of live - with the exception of Microsoft Word and other M365 products because it seems Microsoft has taken steps to make that work properly
ahhh ok
