#"auto tune EFX is missing" error.

That says EFX, but I think the modern version is EFX+. Does a license to the Plus version get you access to the old version?

I’m not sure and idk how to download the old version lol
Oh
Idk which one to download
I’m not sure if it gives access to the older versions
I think it’s that one
hey so basically I downloaded both of them provided for windows and none of them worked, I cant see it in the plugins.
I don't really know what to say. I've never touched an Antares product, so I don't know anything about how their system works.
If it's been installed to the proper place, and authorized, the plugin scanner should find it. If the VSTID matches the one from your preset, you should be able to load the plugin as expected. (Rather than getting the missing plugin error)
just tried and it dosent work. Both of the auto-tune efx are RTAS and VST.
not sure if that matters
It used to be the ProTools plugin format, but at this point RTAS has been phased out entirely, that won't matter here.
Does the plugin scanner find the VST? does it say ERROR or anyhting?
basically its all the same thing that it was before, when I rescanned nothing new popped up.
I don't see any VST2 plugins in that list, where did you install the plugin, and is it added as a search path in the plugin scanner?
https://www.antarestech.com/discontinued-software-download/ is where I installed it, scroll to Auto-Tune EFX and there are 2 versions for Windows and I downloaded both and nothing popped up after finishing the download. And im not sure what you mean a "search path"

hm
let me reinstall it
and see
the thing is tho
when the guy I got the preset from made a video on how to use it he pulled up the auto-tune and the version was EFX+ not EFX.
Hmm, then this might be as simple as locating the VST2 version of Autotune EFX+ (that you already had) and getting FL to recognize that instead of the VST3 versio.
hm
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins is a classic location, but run the installer again and see what it says.
okay
installer for the new or old one
EFX+
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2
C:\Program Files\VST Plugins
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Plugins
There might be some (x86) happening there too, but again, you'll need to look into it.
Grab the installer for EFX+, run the installer, pay attention to the file path when it shows up.
okay
Add that path to the plugin search paths in the FL plugin scanner.
the problem is its not from a exe instead from its own UI so I cant know the path it has been downloaded to.
im downloading an older version just to test it
ok I think Im doing something
its now the original name
That's a good start
yeah
ones a .dll file
IT FIXED IT
YES
no popup
so I just had too new of a version
which is odd
why dosent the plugin update with the preset?
kinda weird
VST2 > VST3 doesn't always translate well
ah
If you didnt have a VST2 version installed before, FL might not even try to merge them.
I'd save the preset/copy the settings to the newer version, but that's not a requirement
yeah good point
thanks alot man
I appreciate you
i just got the 200$ version yesterday so Im kinda new to this lol
Glad it's solved. Good luck 👍
