#My printer stopped printing good

did you only have 2 parts printing?
Yes
where were they positioned to print
Can you vc
i cant right now i'm in my ffice
I mean they were close to each other kinda
no i mean were they printing in the middle of the build plate?
Yes
okay, so they got knocked off their original position half way through right?
about yeah
if that's the case then look at resolving issues with build plate adhesion like pezliz suggested
i would suggest to just clean the build plate really well and redo the print. You usually want to avoid touching build plates with your skin
sounds good
ima just redo the print but smaller cause I don't wanna waste filament with my broke ah
Did you clean the plate with dish soap? What bed temp are you using?
Yes and 55 celcius
Pls filament
Pla
Ima just print benchy to see if it’s the slicer messing up or the printer
my benchie is now "grumpy cat" lol
Ok, has the filament dried for 4-6h, even if it's a new spool?
To add some extra filament to the first layer, you could bump up the first layer width by .05 as well
Filament has to dry…
Rn benchy is printing with a few imperfections
For best results, yes. Probably 90% of them today have to be from what I've kept up on. There's seemingly a new filament chemical makeup every month now.
PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, the core ones, are all hygroscopic.
Not atm
Alr
Might be able to in like 1.5h
Well my friend gave me this stl file for this chainsaw man thing and he has a flash forge 5m pro and I have a flash forge ad5x so different settings?
I think orca autocorrected the settings to his as mine maybe
Plausible, STLs don't contain settings from other people. 3MFs do and since you have pretty similar printers your friend's likely would work if he exported it as a 3MF
It's basically a bundled version of the STL model + slicer settings
Ah ok, they mostly should carry over then
Could be. You should see the slicer settings with changes in orange. If your friend can screenshot his that worked you could verify they all match. Even generic basic settings generally should work to a good degree though. It's clearly a bed adhesion issue from your picture though.
If you've washed it in regular, non-fragranced, no moisturizer dish soap, you generally should be ok. While I don't recommend doing it, I've had several co-workers swear by a light IPA wipe down with a paper towel on textured PEI plates for adhesion, but that goes against a lot of community resources
I've gotta step away for a bit now. I'll check back later
so should I do a little dawn dish soap on it rq?
then let it warm up with heat on it for a lil while
Wash it in dawn, let air dry, try again. If it fails, maybe try my workers light IPA wipe and try again
what is a ipa wipe? and how much does it cost?
also it has to finish benchy rq
he has a few imperfections so maybe just adhesion issue
brb ima go finish this print and wash the print mat and check back in this later
Yep it messed up again @signal badger
isopropyl alcohol. you can pick it up at a drug or department store like CVS, walmart, target
If I have some could I put it on a paper towel or something and wipe it on the mat?
yeah put the paper towel on top of the container and do a really quick splash of it on the paper towel a couple times then do a very gentle wipe of it
alr ima see if I have some brb
I don't have that but I have hydrogen peroxide?
no dont use that on it
might have to pick it up from the store if you dont have it
