<@&1122587817768398938> , could someone confirm for me the actual color of a 3D printed object in the dark with Polymaker Luminous Orange? If I look at the online pictures, the daylight color is very nice orange, but the glow in the dark color I would more describe as yellow.

As I know colors are very light source dependent and a picture can be hard to make, I figured I'd ask the community. ๐Ÿ™‚

As a comparison with Amolen, yellow is yellow during day and dark:

Where as, their orange is white during the day and orange in the dark:

I have the Luminous Rainbow which has Orange in it, but not the Orange itself. However there are more pics on the us.polymaker.com site.
(a few more if you click on old packaging button)

I also found more details on the 3dfilamentprofiles.com including a color code, #FEBE5F 254, 190, 95 ; however I am not positive that its in dark or light..

My name is actually .casperh so I see where you are coming from.

Ill dig around for more glow in the dark filament candidates, I want to do a print with green, orange and purple glow in the dark and some black and PVA.

#

The US site images look properly orange, Ill order a roll and see how things go.

It looks indeed kind of yellow, I would say that it also looks even more yellow on full darkness than on the official page photo, but to be fair orange is a mix of red and yellow, glow in the dark materials are pretty hard to make them glow bright red, and since eyes are more sensible towards the green on the spectrum it looks even more yellow.

#

Oh and yes, yellow glows more like green

#

Oh and when fully "charged" it looks more like yellow and after time it starts looking more orangy as it gets less "charged"

Thank you @unreal vale that was the kind of info I was looking for. Do you have the Panchroma or the "classic" Polymaker one? As the example images for both look a tad different.

#

I've already ordered a spool, so I'll just have a go and see.

Cool.

It will be a few weeks before it arrives and my 3D model is ready for printing, I'll tag you and share an update then.

# unreal vale Nice, yes, let me know

Ok. Unfortunately, the filament is yellow in the dark.
It's a lovely orange color during daylight, but yellow at night.
So, that orang-y pumpkin is not what you can expect. Not sure what that filament is.

Once I finish the roll Ill have a go at the new Amolen, which is now also orange in daylight.
