My ASA prints are fine in the beginning but after like 20 layers some walls start underextruding. I tried drying the filament, disabling retraction, decreasing PA, increasing/calibrating flow and increasing Temps to 270(both of which helped a tiny bit). I disassembled the toolhead and redid it. I thought that maybe the extruder is overheating and that's why the issue isn't apparent in the beginning, but the issue is non existent with eSun ABS+. Got ant ideas? Reckon I might try switching to a normal nozzle from a cht and adjusting the extruder current. What do you recommend?

@manic hull is there a possibility that specifically pm asa is partially clogging?
could be. not sure why though, got any idea?
After changing nozzle I may try printing slower too
most of the prints were at ~200mm/s
What hotend?
It may be that esun abs+ flows different from asa in such a way that it underextrudes
try less flow
I dont see why it would be that much
i will. Why is the issue not apparent in the first layers though?
first layer is slower
i am talking about the first 15 layers or so
yes, 15 layers or so
0.2mm
1.8mm
so 9 layers
I will get back to you when I work on my printer again. Tomorrow at best. Thanks for the help mate
@heady depot I decreased the print speeds (around 10 mm^3/s flow) and it started well but after 20 layers (actually this time haha) it started underextruding again. Then I changed nozzle but same thing happened. Extruder is hot to the touch, maybe I should lower the current?
hm stealthchop was enabled for the extruder. Let's disable that...
Well, other than some z issues likely caused by slight warping it looks fine now. I increased the extruder current
Yeah its quite possible that its overheating, and as the print progressed, it got hotter
which would make sense as to why the higher flow had it happen faster
higher?
thats strange
Indeed
you can skip from too low current, but it wouldnt be getting too hot
