hey wondering what people are using for their retraction settings for the lightweight filament. I've got the actual prints dialed in perfectly, the filament is fantastic, but i've got a lot of stringing between parts. I'm running a 195 temp, ive tested it at 4-9mm distance at 60mm/s with a bit of extra prime. I've noticed no difference with distance and am going to try some speed tests but wanted to inquire and just see what others are doing.

Voxelab Aquilla (ender 3 clone)
195c temp
4-7mm distance
60mm/s speed

I'm printing 1 layer thick rc plane walls if it makes a difference

Vase mode is going to help tremendously since you are doing one layer thick rc plane parts. Anytime the nozzle picks up moves it is going to string a bit. I have my similar settings but retraction is at 80mm/s and 100 mm/s iirc on outer walls using a bambu x1c

These particular plans are designed to not use vase mode to make things but that's interesting your speeds are much higher than mine. I might try upping it quite a bit for this filament

I am also trying to save time by printing multiple parts at once. It's easy to avoid by doing one at a time but since printing a wing takes 16-18 hours alone... any time save is good haha

yea, most of my speed comes from the bambu. If you check #showoff-prints you can see my LW scientist

wow, very little stringing, it looks great

mm the strings on my prints are more full than that. its not the hairy style where it melts easily (theres some of that on long travels). i will try to post pic

farthest left is with 100 mm/s speed and 7.0 distance with a small prime amount

@north falcon if you have any suggestions that would be helpful hopefully i am not bugging you haha

Usually coasting and wiping is what helps the most

so lower temperature is better for the lw stuff? I have been using 200c. Thanks for the help. I gathered from the rcgroups thread on this stuff that retraction isnt as important. The problem is these models are one wall thick and the coasting in the 5.0 version of cura is broken!! i switched to prusa and its MUCH better on the stringing
