I saw that Extrudr has PETG CF and now Prusament has, too.

Has anyone tried either of them and what do you think or expect of it? Does it make sense for the mechanical properties or is it mostly cosmetic just like with most PLA CFs?

The ezpc is a pc-pbt mix

According to random people from discord lol

Should be able to get some nice ambient temps

#

So I bought the cf-pc-pbt for new parts and have high temp belts and motors coming lol

#

Might do 48v 48mm stepper for Y and normal 48mm motors you gave me for a/b

#

With the CF carriage and 9mm belt mod I'm able to push 14k accel @ 500mm/s lol. Whips the bed around.

#

Here's the petg-cf

#

Its really easy to print, easier than normal petg and layer lines are nearly invisible

Look up a euclid high temp if you need a probe

#

Don’t buy 0.8 high temp steppers so loud

#

If you go stealth burner look at the aluminum carriage i keep pulling heat inserts out at 100c

I think CF materials look pretty nice, and I thought PETG CF might be an upgrade over PLA CF without having to go all the way to something like pc or pa.

#

I know I saw it before, but I forgot that FormFutura also has PETG CF, I needed to order from them anyway so I just added a 250g spool of that.

checkout PolyMax PETG-ESD, carbon nanotubed result in increased stiffness and tensile strength. Similar impact to PolyLite PETG

#

probably the closest thing Polymaker have to PETG-CF

we shall see how "ez" it really is

I have a bunch of polymaker pa6-cf but didn't know it was susceptible to creep

#

so i haven't found a use for it yet

Tried it today for the first time. Very happy with how it looks like. Couldn't really test its stability/strength yet though

@hard sandal I haven't tried Prusa's or Extrudr's, but I have 3DXTech's and some cheaper stuff from IEMAI. I like PETG-CF, as @remote grail said it seems to take to the CF well. It's not a super material or anything, but I can use it in my car, it looks cool (not a big fan of glossy PETG all the time) and it makes it a little stiffer. As long as the price is right I think it's a really nice material if you need a little more heat resistance than PLA. Also hoping Polymaker might make a reasonably priced version 😉 @fast smelt

Oh, I did have to dry the snot out of the IEMAI first to get good results FYI.

#

That made all the difference though.
