@everyone Updates on anti-bot measures, and more
A note about botters
It's time we share with you all what we've been doing behind the scenes to combat botters in the game.
First off, we take active measures to prevent people from manipulating the game data through automated means. Those who do wield an unfair advantage over others and ruin the game community.
We have many ways of tracking this type of behavior. We've flagged tens of thousands of accounts, over 600 of which are particularly flagrant in their bot use.
What happens to flagged accounts? They will ONLY get common drops through dungeon and tavern completion -- no Rares, Epics, or Legendaries. They are automatically excluded from all raffles. Since implementing these measures, we've seen botting activity decline by over 99%.
Throughout this week, we've received many complaints from known botters claiming the game's RNG is broken, unbeknownst to them that they've been flagged in the system for cheating. Just this morning, we banned a cheater who claimed they didn't bot, despite the data clearly showing they've miraculously completed dozens of dungeons without ever having set foot in the dungeon loot room.
Appeals
We have not made any changes to the RNG. Your account has not been flagged if you've received any items that are Rare or greater in rarity.
So far, we have only received outright confessions from flagged account holders but have not seen any falsely flagged accounts. Nevertheless, please open a #📝・support-ticket-2 with us if you believe your account to have been incorrectly flagged and would wish to appeal.
A note on WL spots and minting
As you all know, there are 4096 Pet Eggs available for minting starting December 16th. Our goal is to under-allocate WL spots to 3500 so that anyone on the WL will be guaranteed the chance to mint, should they choose to do so. This will also guarantee at least 500 Pet Eggs available to be minted by a waiting list. We will determine the exact size of the waiting list when we have a more informed projection of how many Pet Eggs will likely be minted by WL holders.
The team intends to mint fewer than 90 Pet Eggs -- to give to key partners and to hold in reserves. The exact numbers are still to be decided and will depend on what we project we will need for those reserves. We will let you know when we've made a decision.
We project about 700 WL spots in total will be available for giveaways, contests, and raffles during Week 3 of the Settlement Launch.
Collaborations have made up only single-digit percentages of the total WL spots given away during each Settlement Week. In fact, most collaborations were already scheduled/organized weeks ago. Even before the Settlement Launch began on Nov 25, we had already given about 2000 WL spots.
A note on raffles
Yesterday's WL spots raffle saw 12,372,984 raffle entries. Of the winners, the highest raffle ticket holder had over 130,000 tickets, and many more winners held multiple tens of thousands of tickets.
Most of the process is done by running a few scripts. We do a lot of processing to make sure known cheaters are excluded and that holders of multiple wallets are only counted as one. As such, I understand the frustration that this may seem too much like a black-box and the community's desires for more transparency.
Moving forward, we will be modifying our raffle drawing scripts to output more detailed numbers/stats in an effort to increase transparency and verifiability by the public.
Closing remarks
We are now in the final Settlement Launch week. Including today, there are 6 days remaining during which you can play and receive drops. In the coming days, we will have new game formats introduced, new items introduced, the Settlement Cup esports tournament, and more.
Thank you all for joining us on this ride. We're just getting started on this game development journey.
