#

hm

#

could you dm me the pack for me to test it

#

using the same properties file my foxes look as they should so im confused

abstract plinth
#

The path should be "packname\assets\minecraft\optifine\random\entity\fox\fox.properties"

fading pivot
#

it seems you also have the fox textures in dorianpb/cem

im not sure why, but deleting those seemed to fix it for me\

#

yes

#

nah, the textures are handled in the optifine/mob folder like you had it

#

no problem!

#

feel free to send them here I can try to help

#

emissive entities?

#

hm it might be best to make a new post for this

#

with screenshots

#

ah yeah emissives with ETF are not very bright during the day

#

odd
i assume you don't have any of the images in the cem folder for the wolves

#

i think i found the problem

#

you also need a wolf_angry.properties and a wolf_tame.properties

#

(you can just copy/paste the wolf one and rename the file)

#

oh?

#

thats odd because it fixed it for me

#

I would help more but I need to rest, im really sorry! hopefully traben or the other helper gets online soon to help

#

the fixes are working on my end but not yours disintegrate

#

wait let me hop back on my pc rq

#

what do you mean by turning black

#

dw dw im invested

#

oh

#

i read black oops

#

can you send me the file after you tried the fix?

#

oh

#

for the wolf one, try spawning it in different biomes maybe

#

even with the added properties files?

#

because what it looks like is tehre are some biomes that only spawn the vanilla & white wolf

#

so that seems intentional

#

so with the wolf pack you sent me, you should try spawning wolves around different biomes to see if thats the case

#

also the fox pack you sent me works

#

also the wolf pack you sent me works

#

but some biomes spawn only the vanilla wolf (intentionally)

#

sorry i should specify

#

with a much higher chance to spawn the vanilla wolf*

#

oh i see

#

ohhh

#

i think its because the pack doesnt specify for all biomes

#

so for some biomes it straight up only spawns the vanilla texture

#

maybe?

#

im pretty sure in optifine that makes them be random, no?

is this an ETF bug?

#

iris shaders mod

#

ah rip

#

#dev-blog message

#

funny coincidence

#

yeah im not sure how to get this one downloaded

#

anyway im gonna go back to bed, i hope traben sees this thread and is able to help out

#

im not sure what his rules are about pinging but i would just wait

#

Pinging is fine

#

Does your log file contain any errors from etf?

#

Send me the files also

#

And do you have just the one resource pack loaded

shadow sail
#

Do the packs work individually when loaded one at a time?

fading pivot
#

have you tried loading it with just ETF and CEM

shadow sail
#

I have only looked at the wolf pack so far and i see a few issues.

first the named properties will only work if the preceding biome check fail, so a wolf in a forest biome will never change its texture via the name Ender because texture.4 is checked first, you will want these to be textures.1 & 2

second a minor issue, textuires.1 and textures.2 both have the biomes frozen_ocean and deep_frozen_ocean which means those biomes will only work for the first one

#

the emissives on the wolves seem to work fine

fading pivot
#

does optifine handle it differently? because iirc this is a pack that is just being ported by foehammer
perhaps the way it was made works withoptifine but not etf because of some random thing

shadow sail
#

the foxes also appear to be fine texture wise, however the custom model is clearly broken

#

the ones inr ed all spawned in the desert so it seems to work right

#

smh i forgot it wasnt on this instance'

#

trying it now, but the texture at least varies correctly without cem

#

hmm no texture with cem

#

nvm it was that known issue with cem and the latest sodium, foxes work perfectly

#

@lusty escarp the issue is indeed the textures in the optifine/cem/ folder as they load somehow, and as they don't have a properties file there, they load randomly

I am unsure why these load as the jems do not point to them it must be some cem behaviour I am unaware of.

you can fix the foxes by either copying the fox.properties file to the optifine/cem/ folder or deleting the textures from the cem folder

shadow sail
#

What did you do?

#

Did you delete them?

#

The textures in the cem folder?

fading pivot
#

you need to do the opposite, delete the textures from the cem folder

#

and keep everything in their proper place

#

im so confused because it worked for me and traben

shadow sail
#

Don't delete the models

#

Just the textures

#

Hmm

#

It definetly worked for us

#

@fading pivot Can you send him your file that is fixed to try

#

I'm not at my pc

fading pivot
#

thats the thing, the ones that worked for me were the ones that foehammer had sent me

shadow sail
#

You had to clear the cem folder textures right?

fading pivot
#

no, foehammer had cleared them like we asked

shadow sail
#

I'll look into this more tomorrow

#

@lusty escarp Can I get your mod list?

fading pivot
#

datapack mob spawning is bad, theres barely any vanilla support (im trying to figure it out too for a personal project)
