|| I think Denji does eventually grasp the system. It is thanks to his own dreams that he finds a way to learn how to survive every hardship. His game plan was to consume everything possible, even the blood of others if he has to take it by force, swim and eat in the world "manufactured" by much Stronger Devils to then come back, stronger and eventually conflict with them, even if it was never Denji's intention to grow more powerful. He found a way to adapt and learn how to posses himself in a world with Pochita. Denji has a choice to continue his life as is and survive in that world peacefully (protecting others in the process, and in some situations unable to protect everyone in a Devil event as working apart of Public Safety Bureau) without Pochita anymore. B ut the memories from the dreams he showed Pochita still guide him and live inside him. That's the strength of Denji's dreams, it was powerful. But the door that Denji always makes the mistake to 1) get a hold of the situation or to 2) lose himself to desire. After eating Death, Denji couldn't have thought of the world that gave an advantage to powerful Devil's of Production and numbers.
