Here is something i recommend that reworked my brain in perceiving drawing and maybe you guys can try it

The first few chapters of "Keys to Drawing" by Bert Dodson. It basically hammers into you the concept of "draw what you see and not what you think you see"

It helped me rewire a lot of stuff, like how anatomy works and what guidelines are supposed to be for

Basically there are things you need to be comfortable not to draw. For example, the missing arm when you draw the body on a 3/4 angle, you just need to give a hint that it is there like the shoulder or a hint of the hand and it's enough. "Draw what you see and not what you think you see" also goes a long way with even drawing from reference because it prompts you to observe more which builds your overall visual library. Being forced to observe would make you see stuff like "things in the dark tend to have lesser details so I can just draw the darker side of the face with lesser details" or the human body proportions without actually studying the anatomy of the human body. Everyone draws from reference, it's just a matter of if you see said person pulling out a reference physically or not

Drawing as a craft is more of seeing rather than the technical skill. Obviously, you gotta practice but if you see things more and understand why certain things are the way they are like eyes are concave, it gets translated in your drawings

One of my personal favorite tips; if you're practicing and want to learn proper muscle memory and study: trace.
As long as you use it for practice, tracing is genuinely really good exercise

concept draft: Slime Knight
Once an ordinary slime that was content with eating grass and scavenging the dungeon for food, one fateful day it saw a squadron of knights help adventurers in the dungeon. Inspired by their heroism and strength, the slime wished for strength as well and started level grinding within the dungeon, until finally it gains enough levels to start mimicking human form. It scavenges an armor set from a dead adventurer, discards the chest piece that has large gaping holes from damage, and starts pretending to be an adventurer in it's quest to gain strength, reasoning that the armor could prove useful in hiding its core and it can eat attacks by absorbing any weapon or arrow that gets aimed to the torso, and thought all humans just wear armor everywhere. As enough time passed, the slime actually began going to the adventurer guild and turning in quests. Everyone in town is weirded out but just rolls with it eventually. When asked why it tries to mimic a female human, the Slime Knight answered thus "knight who Slime Knight saw was strongest, leader. Slime Knight want to be strongest slime, so Slime Knight mimic shape of strongest knight that Slime Knight saw"

Doesn't fully understand that humans can't absorb solid objects through their skin like it does nor does it fully understand that it's failing at pretending to be human since it can't mimic human skin tones and can't stop dripping, prefers to be rewarded in a variety of consumables instead of coin (since the latter doesn't offer much nutritional value when eaten and the humans scream whenever the Slime Knight eats coins for whatever reason)

making my own board game because I was overcome by such an immense, visceral hatred for my students' uncreative works in Game Dev class

the premise is basically "Chess meets DnD" where every character (2nd pic) can cast skills be they for tanking, DPS-ing, or support. Skills use Action Points (AP) and every player starts with 4 each turn. Each player fields 6 units, and while moving doesn't use AP, attacking and using skills do. It's as much a positioning game as it is a slugfest PVP

The map was made to be as "Australian" as possible, where the terrain itself is hostile to the players.

the current game mode is still standard chess (wipe out the entire enemy team, or force them to forfeit) but planning to add an area capture and 4 person PVP in the future

I really want to transition from paper to screen for drawing but I have no clue how to draw digital is there any app that is similar to paper drawing or some type of tool e.g. a pen or something that helps? I heard some people get tablets (like the drawing board thing) but since you can't see what you draw on it I don't know how to use it

if you use PC, give a try with Krita and get a XPPen/Old-ish Wacom tablet, should be enough

If you use Mobile to draw and can pay a bit for more features, I'd recommend Sketchbook

in case you use an iPad, Procreate can be a better option for you to start your creativities, while you can use Sketchbook if you wish for cross-tablets and consider to swap to an android tablet soon.

I had a dream where I was playing what I thought was a new chapter in arknights endfield, and there was this character who had orange blonde hair, knight themed like nearl, and used a flaming sword like laev, and I was completely gaslit into thinking she was the next banner operator.
